AACC is excited to announce that our NextGen Initiative is launching the first NextGen Leadership Cohort in Spring of 2025.

The AACC NextGen Leadership Cohort will consist of a carefully chosen group of 8-12 exceptional Asian American college students and young adults dedicated to their Christian faith. Ideal candidates for the cohort will understand the value and significance of the Asian American church and embrace their distinct identity as young Asian American Christians with confidence.

AACC has established this cohort to mentor our next generation, empowering them to realize the depth of their God-given talents and identity. Our aim is to cultivate leaders who exhibit assurance in their spiritual and cultural identity, capable of guiding others to embrace similar confidence in their diverse college, workplace, and community settings.

when is it?

The Cohort will run from January to April 2025.

Members of the cohort will attend weekly meetings on Google Meet on Thursday evenings (time TBD).

What is it?

Participants will interact with distinguished speakers, explore the intricate aspects of Asian American culture and its intersection with Christian faith and identity, and experience intentional spiritual and personal growth through mentorship.

Additionally, cohort members will have opportunities to engage in significant AACC events and participate in stimulating individual and group projects. Upon completing the cohort, alumni will have access to the AACC network and community and the chance to serve as mentors for future cohort members.

The Cohort will lead up directly to the AACC conference in early April, where Cohort participants will lead various parts of the planning, execution, and leadership of the conference. Cohort members will work together to create workshops/panels/breakout-sessions exploring faith and its intersection with Asian American identity. It will include, but is not limited to the sharing of personal testimonies from individuals within the cohort, hearing from powerful speakers, and engaging students in activities to build community among peers their age that help address issues relevant to the next generation today.

Commitment

As college students and recent post-graduates, we recognize the demands of academia, employment, and daily life. Nevertheless, this cohort presents a distinctive and enriching opportunity, promising a transformative experience in spiritual, cultural, and identity realms alongside a close-knit community of peers in your age group. We encourage you to apply for this opportunity only if you can commit the time and enthusiasm necessary to fully participate in what this cohort offers. As a member of this cohort, you will be expected to:

  • Attend 75% of the Thursday online sessions from mid-January through end of March

  • Help organize and attend the cohort’s culminating event, the AACC Conference in Spring 2025
